The Sci-Fi Channel is making a tv show based on the Terminator movies called The Sarah Connor Chronicles. This wouldn't normally be the sort of thing I'd comment on, since I'm only marginally a fan of the first two movies, and I never saw the third, but Summer Glau will be playing one of the Terminators on the show, and I'm always excited to see new work from a former Firefly cast member. Add this to the fact that the last few years have proven that "Sci-Fi Channel original" doesn't automatically mean "crappy show/movie" anymore, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with this.

Note that it's a Fox pilot.... not really a sci-fi original. And for every good thing sci fi does there are 10 things it does wrong or causes problems for.

Ex: Dresden files, which looks ok except they aren't showing the episodes in order evidently. Like they did for Eureka, they've decided to re-arrange the order of the episodes to try for what they think will get faster ratings, rather than what makes the story arc make sense...

And, well, I won't mention all the really bad horror/monster films they've been doing in recent years...

Thanks for the info; I wasn't aware that it originated with Fox. I'm not sure if that's a mark for or against it. I definitely am not of the opinion that Sci-Fi can do no wrong; they've made a lot of garbage over the years, but from the couple of episodes of BSG I've seen (and all the things that people I trust say about it), it at least gives me a bit of hope that it could be good; 3 or 4 years ago, I wouldn't have even given it that.

The bad horror/monster movies are awesome. They are designed with cheesiness and cheap thrills in mind. They deliver on this in a calculated way. Though, if you don't want cheesy, you'll have to look somewhere else.

Cheesy never equals good, as far as I'm concerned.
