I've been sick again over the last few days; I most likely contracted it from Jesse, who was going through the worst of being sick just as I got back into town. Curses! Yesterday was the worst day yet, with me feeling like I'd been dipped in undiluted deathskack all day. The irony, of course, is that yesterday was the nicest day weather-wise that we've had in Seattle for about two months. Mid 60's, no rain, sunny, etc.
After my weekly dose of Lost last night, I decided to give the premiere of Point Pleasant a chance, largely because Marti Noxin is an executive producer and writer on the show. Noxin was one of the chief writers on Buffy and a co-executive producer for the later half of the series. I was rather disappointed. One thing I really appreciated about Buffy was that despite its teenagers, occasional soap opera-esque moments, and all that, it never fell into the "teen drama" trap. The first episode of PP, however, does not escape this pitfall. It basically felt like watching an episode of The O.C. (I'm assuming, since I've never actually watched The O.C.) with a minor subplot thrown in about a girl being the daughter of a demon. If I'm home when it's on, I may try watching another episode or two to see if it gets better, but I'll be doing so with lowered expectations.
