The coming months promise to produce a plethora of pleasurable movies.

In a couple of weeks we have the new Terry Gilliam movie The Brothers Grimm. As a big fan of past Gilliam movies like Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Muchausen, and The Fisher King (among many others), I'm excited about this movie despite some lackluster reviews.

However, the real candy comes in September. Corpse Bride starts on the 23rd. The Nightmare Before Christmas has remained in my top five movies of all time since it was originally released, and I have high hopes for this sequal-in-spirit.

September 30th sees the simultaneous releases of both Serenity, the theatrical continuation of Joss Whedon's brilliant but short-lived sci-fi tv series Firefly and Mirrormask, which can bost being the first movie produced by Jim Henson Studios after having gotten out from under Disney's thumb as well as being written by Neil Gaiman and designed and directed by Dave McKean.

Shortly thereafter (no exact release date, yet) will come the U.S. release of Night Watch, the first in a dark fantasy trilogy that broke all previous box office records in Russia, its country of origin.

Cheers.
