I'll refrain from spoilers, as much as I would like to just gush over this movie. I've been following the creation of Serenity for nigh on 2 years now. The only other movie I've lavished this much attention on prior to its actual release was LOTR. All that to say I had a lot invested in Serenity, and I was not disappointed. The first 15 minutes or so left me feeling a little uneasy, as there seemed to be some slight history revision going on between what the movie was showing and what had occurred in Firefly. Granted, I have not yet read the 3 issue comic that is supposed to bridge the two, so that may help some. Once that initial stage passed, though, it was like coming home and being surrounded by old friends. This may seem silly, considering how few episodes of Firefly were made, but this show became my favorite of all time upon first viewing. 'Nuf said. There were highs and lows, great wins and great losses. In several places I was in tears. I'll be seeing it again with Jason on Monday.
