Pan's Labyrinth was everything I hoped it would be. It's a dark, grim, gory fairy tale, just like they're supposed to be. Great acting, effects, writing, everything. You have humans behaving like monsters, and monsters behaving humanely. I don't really want to go into a lot of details, since those of you who are interested will see it, and those of you who aren't don't care anyway. It ranks very highly on my list, though, for what that's worth.

For those of you who are still waiting for mixed cds, I haven't forgotten you. They're actually done, I just have to get to the post office when they're, you know, open. Those of you who have received the first wave, feel free to leave comments on what you thought, any bands or songs you particularly liked, disliked, etc. I'm interested.

I've got to say, I really liked the first track The Ghastly Stomp. Reminded me of a rockabily version of Grim Grinning Ghosts.

I think i know the answer to this already, but imagine you were broke, had to work like a monkey in an iron mine to live, and had a car that eats more gas than the Wal-Mart Trucking line. Note then that the nearest available theater with Pan's Labyrinth is in Dallas--which is six to eight hours away from you...

would you still go see it?

Cause i'm trying to talk myself into it...

Honestly, unless I was going with a group of friends who would share both the experience and the expenses, probably not. In the end, it's entertainment, and while I'm a big fan of entertainment (especially entertainment that's this good), I don't think it's worth screwing yourself over for it, especially since it probably won't be long before it's available on DVD.

Thanks for being realistic. Though i think it would be easy to rustle up a posse for this film. In fact, i've had two other people claim to want to see it without me ever whispering a word of it. So there's good people with me. just no money.

Still, isn't screwed screwed? The only difference is 'Screwed and not seen Pan's Labyrinth' vs. 'Screwed and DID see Pan's Labyrinth?'
