Kurosawa strikes again
Mar. 7th, 2004 11:21 pmI got back from the Drake's a little while ago, where we watched Dreams, Akira Kurosawa's 3rd from last movie. It's a series of vignettes loosely based on actual dreams he had. It was very good, though still not my favorite of his (that being, once again, High & Low). It's a very slow-paced movie, but that's to be expected. I don't think I've ever seen a medium-paced Kurosawa movie, let alone a fast-paced one. The first vignette, in which a boy witnesses the wedding procession of a group of fox spirits and then has to either receive their forgiveness or commit suicide, was my favorite. Cheers.
