They Never Die...
Apr. 6th, 2004 11:50 pmFriday is Tiger Army day. Well, technically, it's Punk v. Psychos Tour II day, but, honestly, even though I like some of the other bands that are playing (The Business, F-Minus), Tiger Army is the reason my ticket was purchased. I find that I love psychobilly music more and more as I listen to it. I could never maintain "the look" (I don't even try to maintain a punk look these days, and the typical psychobilly look is much more high-maintenance), but if I had the money to buy a stand-up bass and the energy to transfer my mediocre electric bass playing over to it, I would. And, of course, following that I would convince David and Jesse that we need to be a psychobilly band, by any means necessary.
One thing that still amazes me is the recovery of Fred Hell, drummer for Tiger Army. He took three bullets from a burglar who broke into a friend's apartment he was in, two of which were in the head, and he's back up and kicking again. He's even still got a bullet lodged in his brain. Crazy. But as they say, Tiger Army never dies...
