Slow day at work

I've been re-reading my old LJ entries for a while, and I came across this one about my iPod being broken. I hadn't realized it had been that long since it occured. Anyway, in the realm of pointless updates, I had it fixed by a mail-order company in Michigan about a month ago. It only cost me $15 including shipping.

In your face, Apple.

15? W00T! What was wrong with it, and what company fixed it for you?

ipodmods.com (http://www.ipodmods.com). With the 1st & 2nd Gen iPods, the firewire port is on the top and apparently the act of plugging and unplugging the cable has a tendency to loosen the connection between the port and the motherboard. It's a widely-known defect, and all they had to do was re-sodder the port to the motherboard.
