Last Song Kills the Audience

I know this is a very, very long shot, as I would probably have heard about this already, but is anyone here attending San Diego Comic Con? I require Sex Bob-Omb t-shirts, and I do not want to wait until they are available through mailorder.

On a totally unrelated note, I finished the 4th disk of season 1 of Veronica Mars last night, and I am 93.2% certain that I know who killed Lilly Kane.

Sex Bob-Omb t-shirts? Oh heck yeah. Also this Scott Pilgrim business looks interesting. I shall investigate further.

Ok then, for the record, as of right now, who do you figure whacked the party girl?

;)

Well, until last night, I thought it was Duncan, because there had been little hints of things, but nothing that outright made it look like he could have done it. However, in the episode I watched last night, they started talking about him having violent fits and attacking his dad, which makes it look much more likely that he did it, which means (in tv logic) that he didn't do it. Curses!

Assuming that they don't introduce some new character in the last 6 episodes that ends up being the culprit (as that would be really lame) or use some really minor side character that's only appeared once in the show, I'm going to have to guess at this point that it was one of Logan's parents, since there aren't really any other major characters left who could even remotely be implicated. And since Logan's mom is dead (or at least assumed to be dead) then revealing that it's her at the end wouldn't be any fun, so my current guess (admittedly, a fairly unsure one) is that it's Logan's dad.

Technically speaking, that's just standard fiction & mystery tropes, not TV logic per se.

http://www.janeespenson.com/ talks about some of those dilemmas...

So, aside from TV logic & characters, what would Logan's dad's motivation be?

Good question. Let's see...

Well, so far he has displayed the following traits:

1) A willingness to do nearly anything to protect his career/reputation
2) A willingness to beat and otherwise abuse children
3) An inability to keep it in his pants

So, I would guess that it's one three possibilities: Either Lilly had evidence of some indiscretion on his part, or he either tried to seduce Lilly or actually had sex with Lilly. Any of these could be her "secret" that she referred to with Veronica, and she was threatening to reveal it to the public at large or perhaps to someone specific (Logan, Logan's mom, whoever). Considering the situation and the fact that he's been caught in these things before, one of the latter two options is most likely, because otherwise it wouldn't be as big a deal (again, that's partially tv logic). If this is the case, it's possible that he was trying to scare her into not revealing it and didn't actually mean to kill her, or he could just be even more of an evil bastard than he already appears to be, and he outright murdered her to keep her quiet.

How am I doing?
